![]() ![]() The ending of the third titan fight is the most over the top shit I've seen in the series. On the upside, the titan fights are jank, but super flashy. Really makes me wonder if the budget just ran out or something Said final threat even gets a boss intro like every other major fight in the game, but then just goes to the QTE. It's just so hilariously abrupt compared to the build up. Sage sacrifices herself, monster neutralized, day is saved, eggman is super depressed about sage Super Sonic flies into space alongside Sage (who commandeers the last titan) for what looks to be a final boss fight. The story repeatedly signposts that beating the titans is going to lead to some catastrophic event, which turns out to be the thing that killed the Koko back in the day being freed and wanting to drag everything into cyberspace. So you fight the fourth titan, and it isn't really too different from the other titan fights in terms of scale and such. The ending sequence is anticlimactic as all hell, y'all They all got bodied and died lol The titans you fight in game are corrupted versions of them, and they were originally designed to protect the Koko The titans are 100% Divine Beast Rip offs Four Koko were chosen to pilot them to stop a giant monster. ![]() Got namedropped by Amy in the ending alongside Cream Sticks 100% is mainline canon now, I guess. There's a flashback cutscene of them escaping their home planet in ships I could be wrong, but it looks like the Koco were Chaos-esque aliens (ancestors, maybe?) that basically had to leave and destroy their home planet, and followed the Chaos Emeralds to Earth, as the emeralds were drawn there because of the presence of the Master Emerald. A lot of the ancient Koko stuff is shown via flashbacks shown to Sonic, Both Sonic and Knuckles note the similarity to Tikal's visions from Adventure 1 Similar to how the IDW comics handle it, really (Down to actual flashback images) A lot of conintuity nods the events of S3&K, Adventure 2, Heroes, Lost World and especially Adventure 1 get mentioned every now and then. If we divide the games by the predominant gameplay style featured within them, this is where each generation begins: G1 - Sonic 1. While I can get where they’re coming from, I disagree. I just really really REALLY hope they don’t pull a Lost World again. Sega claims that Sonic Frontiers is the start of the series’ third generation of games, with Gen. Some great character interactions Tails' character regression post Adventure 1/2 is explicitly addressed and somewhat resolved So instead of having to reinvent the wheel for the next Sonic game, they just got to polish on Frontiers’ framework: have a livelier open world/hub, create unique stages, add in a couple additional playable characters (yes I know I’m describing Sonic Adventure, shut up). A lot of the writing seems to be a straight up apology for the Colors-Forces era of writing ![]()
